There are three prominent religions in Second Life. Those three main religions are Christianity, Islam, and Judaism. Each religion has their separate churches or mosques within Second Life. They even have different denominations in the religion within Second Life. The question though is whether or not they meet the spiritual needs of the avatars who take religion seriously.

Art is important in every culture, even in "cyber" cultures such as Second Life. Many locations and events in Second Life have to do with art. There are museums, art galleries, and art shows which can all be experienced in Second Life (SL). Two good examples of art sims in Second Life are the Apelland Museum of Art and Poetik Velvets. Activities involving art are among the top twenty things to do in Second Life (Zimmer). SL has a wide variety of art such as sculptures, paintings, and photos which can all be accessed through exploring the large selection of museums and art galleries.
